Filtering issues.

CmB — Mon, 02/15/2010 - 04:21

Hi,

I am slightly confused about the latest update.
Even with the options selected to only see open APs i can still see WEP and WPA encrypted APs on the scanning list. I have to "forget hotspot" to get rid of them off the list.
According to the update "Filtering options are only used to filter what is shown in scanning list" so i am either being a bit thick or the filtering isnt working quite as it should.

Thanks

Chris

Hi Chris, Do you have "Save

codemonkey57 — Tue, 02/16/2010 - 22:18

Hi Chris,

Do you have "Save on Discovery" enabled?

If you've marked a hotspot to be saved (which shows the disk icon), then all other filtering is ignored.

I just did a quick test to confirm this. If I set all the security options to ignore, but have save on discovery set to true, it still picks up these networks. For newly encountered networks, the app should run the filtering logic before marking as saved. I'll add this to the list of fixes for the next release.

I think I also need to update the help page with some text to describe this behavior.

Thanks,
Ryan
